Hello, my name is Todd and this is my friend Oliver. I’m glad you found us, but Oliver doesn’t really care. He is a cat after all. I can’t even get him to look at the camera…Welcome to NOT just another cat site.

I have been around animals my entire life. I started when I was very young growing up on a farm. It became apparent early on that I had a way with animals. My first nickname was Dr. Dolittle. (My wife still calls me that sometimes, but it has nothing to do with animals I’m afraid.) I had pet goats, sheep, calves, rabbits, pigs, chickens, ducks, geese, and of course cats and dogs.

What makes this site different is that my wife Sallie and I have been finding homes for cats and dogs for over 20 years. For me it’s been like being embedded in a cat colony for all these years. During that time, I have accumulated a lifetime of images, videos, knowledge and stories.

We have rescued hundreds of cats and dogs. This is our passion! This is our calling! We love to help. Over the years we have seen it all and learned so much. We want to share this knowledge and experience with all of you. Hopefully, we can help you with your fur friend family members. Whether you are a novice or an experienced veteran, there will be something for everyone.

All of the pics and vids you will see are from rescued strays. They are all amazing, and beautiful, and have wonderful personalities. Well let’s just say they all have personalities, it depends on your personality to decide if theirs is “wonderful” or not. I will be adding posts and images regularly. Most people think I can be funny at times. By most I really mean pretty much everyone, but my wife.

Full disclosure since part of our cat’s lives involve their dog friends, some dog images WILL be seen on here. I know some folks are CAT people and some folks are DOG people. WE are both. So if you are easily offended by adorable and funny cat/dog images, consider yourself warned.

Our home is primarily set up for our pets and rescues. The house also has been modified on occasion for our grandson as he was growing up from an infant to a toddler to now a 2nd grader. The fact that my wife and I actually live here is simply just a bonus I think. I mention this detail because in the background of some of my images you may see some very odd, strange, or worn out items. Since our household is almost always in a state of flux with new cats or dogs coming and going, we will often be creative in how we handle each animal depending on a number of factors which I will get into later.

I did want to dedicate this blog to my wife Sallie. I have never met anyone who cares more, does more, and is absolutely relentless in her efforts to help each and every animal that crosses her path. Even when things are at their worst, most difficult, and seemingly hopeless she will find a way. You will never encounter anyone who out works her. Without Sallie, our rescue and this blog would not have happened. I will talk quite a bit about my perspective and interaction on this site, but I have always been Sallie’s assistant.

I hope you enjoy the site. Comeback for the pics and stories and maybe you will pick up some helpful tips, or learn a trick or two. I am hoping to get my wife on here at some point, but she is a little shy. Just between us, she probably wants to see if this “whole cat blog website thing” really “works” or not. Who knows right?
