Why do cats like our shoes so much? Are they attracted to the odd smells from the outside? Maybe they like the smell of the actual shoe which is often made out of leather. Perhaps they like the smell of us that our feet leave in the shoe?

I have seen multiple cats, multiple times “interacting” with shoes in some fashion.

I know several of my cats love my scent and enjoy laying on my clothes. I have seen some of them like my shoes as well.

Murphy in particular seems to enjoy shoes of all types in all kinds of situations.
