Cats and Shoes…Really?

Why do cats like our shoes so much? Are they attracted to the odd smells from the outside? Maybe they like the smell of the actual shoe which is often made out of leather. Perhaps they like the smell of us that our feet leave in the shoe?

If that’s true then is it possible the always bathed, finicky, often seen bathing and pristine fur baby loves our stinky FEET? No way!

I have seen multiple cats, multiple times “interacting” with shoes in some fashion.

Storm loves my scent. He does this behavior with my clothes too.

I know several of my cats love my scent and enjoy laying on my clothes. I have seen some of them like my shoes as well.

Some cats just don’t interact with the shoes, but they will actually SLEEP on them. This activity looks very uncomfortable, but they will frequently sleep for quite some time.

Does this look comfortable? He loves it!

Murphy in particular seems to enjoy shoes of all types in all kinds of situations.
