Squish the Master of Spaces

Squish is so much fun. I never know where she will pop up, or under, or up high. She always keeps us guessing. I try to remember her fav spot at the moment, but she usually will change it pretty frequently.
One of Squish’s favorite games is she will hide in our bedroom closet at bedtime and I am supposed to go in and “find” her. She often “hides” in the same spot, but will also change it up to throw me off. And then when I pretend to be so surprised that I found her she gets all excited and starts her little chirping noise followed with loud purring and rubbing against me. So adorable.
I have never seen a cat so interested in and regularly looking for chances to burrow into and under…almost anything. She will aggressively “dig” to get into or under comforters, blankets, towels, rugs, clothing, and cat beds. She reminds me of a badger trying to dig in the ground to make a den. We have to regularly put an empty box or laundry basket next to her lump to prevent the dogs from hopping up on the furniture and crushing her.
I swear it’s like Where’s Waldo around here everyday. Sometimes she will come out when I call for her, but usually she will not. This is especially true if she has found a really good spot, a new spot, or she just wants to see if I can find her. What a little turd!
When Squish isn’t under or in something she can often be found in between.
Just to keep things interesting Squish is not always under or in something. She does enjoy her time out, up, and above. Another fun game she likes to play is hanging over the railing of the stairs so she can watch what’s going on below. Normally she is watching for me and at times will surprise me. I will be walking up the stairs turn to go to the kitchen and BOOM there she is right in my face only inches away. If I don’t have a heart attack I usually will bust out laughing!
As you can see this little gal is quite a delight. I just feel like I need to share her with the world because she is so cute, adorable, smart, and super funny. Squish really makes my days so much brighter, lighter, and more enjoyable. I really love all our cats, but little Squishy is my favorite. Sometimes I can find her in another favorite spot…
I enjoy and cherish every moment I get to spend with Squish. I have been so fortunate to have had several wonderful and amazing cats over the years. I have learned that the time goes by so fast and you really never know when your next cuddle is the last cuddle. Give your babies a hug today and just stare into their eyes. You’ll be glad you did.
