I have always been so drawn to cat’s eyes. They are so different in color, shape, size, and patterns. The eyes of a cat are so unique and distinctive. Blue, gold, orange, every shade of green, and yellow. Normally there is just the black slit for the pupil, but when it;s dark or the cat is in certain moods those pupils become huge black orbs floating on a thin ring of spectacular color.

Squish is so pretty on her favorite matching blanket
Beautiful eyes. Just before she pounces on here favorite toy.

Cats often have highlight type color markings around their eyes. Felines with stripes typically display gorgeous markings about their face. Another facial feature that can really highlight a cat’s face is the nose. Black, pink, brown, white are all variations I have seen. Many noses are solid color, but several will have a pattern.

Oliver has a very pale pink nose.
Squish has a nose that matches her coat and looks like a heart.
Layla looking beautiful.

When you get a chance to really look at a cats eyes and face up close you are usually in for quite a treat. A cat has to be pretty comfortable with you to allow you this close.

So next time you are hanging out with your kitty take a moment to REALLY look at them. You might be surprised what new detail you never noticed before.
